Call For Papers Vol I Ed. I

The Bench Notes Law Review invites original and previously unpublished manuscripts for Volume 1, Issue 1 from academicians, practitioners and students. The following will be the guidelines the author is to adhere to while submitting his/her work. 

NATURE OF SUBMISSION

A. Blog Articles [1200-2400 Words] 

We invite insightful and original contributions for publication on Bench Notes Blog, focusing on topics that enhance legal knowledge and spark meaningful discussions. Submissions should range between 1200-2,400 words and provide well-researched perspectives on contemporary legal issues, policy analysis, or academic discourse. Articles that analyze recent judgments, legislative developments, or significant legal concepts are particularly encouraged. All submissions must be original and unpublished and plagiarism of any kind will lead to immediate rejection. By contributing, you join a vibrant platform dedicated to deepening legal understanding and sharing knowledge with law students, academicians, and practitioners alike. Let your voice add value to the evolving legal landscape!

B. Paper Submission [2500- 8000 Words (Excluding Footnotes)]

The Bench Notes Law Review invites scholarly papers that contribute to legal academia and practice. We welcome submissions from law students, academicians, and legal professionals on diverse topics, including constitutional law, international law, corporate law, criminal law, human rights, and emerging areas like technology and law. Papers should demonstrate rigorous research, original insights, and adherence to academic standards.

Submissions must be between 2,500-8,000 words, excluding footnotes, and should include an abstract (250-300 words) summarizing the paper's objectives and findings. Footnotes should conform to the Bluebook (21st Edition) citation style. Authors are encouraged to provide critical analysis and innovative perspectives rather than mere descriptive accounts.

Each paper will undergo a double-blind peer-review process to ensure the highest quality of publication. Submissions should be accompanied by the author’s name, designation, and institutional affiliation on a separate cover page. Papers must be original and unpublished, and plagiarism will result in disqualification.

FORMATTING GUIDELINES

  • All submissions would only be accepted through the form on the bench Notes Website

  • The main text of the paper should be in font size 12, Garamond, 1.5 line spacing and footnotes in font size 10, Garamond, 1.0 line spacing.

  • Text and citations should conform to A Uniform System of Citation (21st ed.) (“The Bluebook”). Footnotes are strongly preferred over endnotes.

  • Co-authoring of papers is permissible only for 'Paper Submission'. Co-authored papers/papers with multiple authors should not exceed more than two authors.

  • All works must be original and unpublished, and not pending for review before any other journal. Any form of plagiarism will lead to disqualification for publication in the Review. 

  •  Please adhere to the word limit. Submissions that exceed the word limit will not be accepted.

  • Please indicate your name, contact number and any other information you deem important, in the body of your email. Your name, affiliation or any other identifying information should not be included in any part of the submission.
